Description
Imagine RIT Live is a live blog with a twist. Rochester Institute of Technology's annual Imagination and Creativity Festival includes hundreds of exhibitions that attract more than 30,000 visitors. On the day of the festival at 10 am, Imagine RIT Live took its first breath. The blog utilized both RIT staffed reporters and festival guests to report minute-by-minute happenings across the campus. Festival guests could email imagineritlive(at)rit.edu with a short story, picture or video, and it was automatically screened and put up on the web. They could also take part on Twitter by using #imagineritlive as the hash-tag, and the site would pull in their tweet and place it on the blog. It was a great success with a constant flow of information being sent in by both groups.
So what's next? How about RFID wristbands that counts the number of visitors at each exhibit, which then auto-tweets current exhibit info every 30 minutes?
